Wolves Football
The Western Oregon University Football team is beginning to settle into its new home in the Lone Star Conference. Under the leadership of head coach Arne Ferguson (Class of ‘91), who is entering his 20th season as head football coach, the Wolves are poised to make themselves known throughout the Lone Star Conference as a force to be reckoned with on Saturdays. Ferguson’s teams have a well-earned reputation for being tough defensively, well-prepared, and finishing plays. The Wolves recently announced a strong recruiting class of 27 players, many from Oregon and the Pacific Northwest, and the future for Wolves football is bright.
More importantly, Wolves football players are just as committed in the classroom as they are on the gridiron. Boasting a graduation rate of over 90% for players who play at least a season and a half and 35 Honor Roll players with a GPA of 3.5 or higher, Wolves Football is composed of true student-athletes.
Moreover, the lessons they learn about teamwork, perseverance, time management, and commitment follow them into their careers and help them rise to leadership positions across a vast array of industries and fields.
